The Quest headset’s company, Meta, announced that they are permitting the other companies to use their operating system for virtual and mixed reality. It means Meta is also permitting their strong rival Microsoft to use their operating system for devices.
The operating system is called Meta Horizon OS which contains advanced features like recognizing minute gestures, letting the user see through the headset, and recognizing and understanding the environment around the user.

Meta further announced that their operating system will be used by Asus and Lenovo in the devices for various activities. They are also making the specific version of the Quest headset that is inspired by the Xbox by Microsoft.
It indicates that Mark Zuckerberg wants to be the top choice for technology that runs virtual and mixed-reality devices.
Mark Zuckerberg shares his thoughts on the headset that could be invented in collaboration, like one headset for exercising that is not only lightweight but also sweatproof with sweat-absorbing material. Another one is for entertainment purposes that display clear images, and another one is for gaming that makes the games wholly immerse in the game with real touch sensations.
In short, Meta is making it easy for companies to create these kinds of devices.
In the blog of Meta, it was announced that Ausu’ Republic of Gamers is creating the gaming headset while Lenovo is focusing on developing the mixed reality (MR) device for tasks like work, learning, and fun by using the Horizon OS.
