Whatsapp rolled out quite a bunch of new chat filters on Tuesday. With this feature, you can easily access and manage all types of messages ( All, Unread, and Group messages) like a pro.
As WhatsApp says they believe that these filters make people stay organized and help them in finding important conversations that help them in navigating through the messages more efficiently.
Before there was a hidden way of finding unread messages but these new filters make your work faster like Flash. Now you don’t need to go through the menus and just need to click on the Unread and you will see all unread chats that need to be answered.
In this, the All filter is set by default and you will get the unfiltered version on your WhatsApp inbox. Now, this option is easily accessible with the new filter bubbles.
The unread filter is quite useful for those messages that are unseen. In this way, you will get rid of the number of unread chats.
According to the meta, the groups filter is one of the most demanded features for quick scrolling through the group chats.
For group chats, WhatsApp launched a new chat filter called Groups Filter. This chat group also includes the Communities.
Moreover, this filter chat also helps you display the conversations that are present in the Communities (a WhatsApp discussion group feature). But this feature is under development and you will see it on your WhatsApp very soon.
Gmail users are quite familiar with this filter bubble as it was introduced in the email service in 2020 to make the searching process simpler and easier.
It was recently reported that WhatsApp is working on other filters like Contacts that will filter messages from unknown people and businesses.
The selected filter will remain applied until you change it into a new filter. The filter can also be ended when you exit the app. But here, you cannot recategorize the messages manually.
Back in 2022, these filters were going through tests and development but for now, this official release of chat filters lacks filters for contacts and non-contacts.
Before WhatsApp was criticized for its unfriendly user interface especially when they needed to switch phones or add new contacts. But Meta is improving their WhatsApp application and making this more modern and flexible for people who have more than one device. Now they are updating its chat box and adding more useful features that will help users keep track of conversations without losing the important chats.
According to WhatsApp, the filter option is rolling out for users today. But be patient as this will be openly available for worldwide users in a few weeks.
